Elective & Keepsake FAQ’s

  • 2D imaging is the standard black & white sonogram image. 3D imaging shows the 3 dimensional views of your baby. 4D imaging allows you to see your baby moving in 3D.

  • 3D & elective ultrasounds are safe when performed by a registered diagnostic sonographer. That is why we pride ourselves being owned & operated by a registered sonographer. You and your baby deserve the best care and the safest practices. With VMAX Imaging, you both are in safe hands.

  • While we offer our 3D package starting at 20 weeks, we recommend scheduling between 28-32 weeks.

  • Elective & 3D ultrasounds do not replace the ultrasounds that are ordered by a physician. Elective ultrasounds do NOT offer any diagnostic medical information and should be viewed solely as a keepsake.

  • We cannot guarantee that you will see the perfect picture of baby. There are many factors that contribute to image quality, and some of these are out of our control. We will always try our best to overcome these factors. If we are unable to achieve satisfactory images, we do offer a free rescan (at the discretion of the sonographer).

  • Hydration is key! Of course throughout your entire pregnancy, but especially the days leading up to your 3D ultrasound. A light snack or juice 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment may help to get baby moving as well.

  • Rescans will be scheduled one to two weeks after your initial appointment, and are only 15 minute sessions. Rescan appointments will not include extra collages or an additional USB. Due to late gestational age, no rescans will be offered on pregnancies 34 weeks and up.
